Homemade pizza with foil pans?

I’m going to be making homemade pizza tonight, but every recipe I’ve seen so far has used a baking stone or soemthing of that sort. I bought those foil pizza pans from the grocery store. Will that work or should I poke holes in them or something?

The foil pans will work fine the only difference will be that the crusts of your pizzas will not be as crispy as they would be if you used a pizza stone. The crust will still brown though.

Should you saute your vegetables before you put it on your homemade pizza?

I’m making homemade pizza, and I have fresh onion, green pepper, and mushroom. Should I saute them in a pan with olive oil before I put them on the pizza, or will they cook in the oven?
Thank you for the answers so far!!!!!

If you want a unique flavor you can add herbs to it and mix it around the vegetables, but otherwise you just plop the vegetables on the pizza before you put it in the oven!!

Bon Appetite

hope this helps.. Good Luck!

How to make a homemade pizza taste like pizza?

hello, I know how to make homemade pizzas but one problem is that after it is finished baking, the cheese doesn’t taste like anything not even the sauce. I use mozzarella cheese for the pizza. So I was wondering, what can I add to make the cheese taste like cheese like any types of spices, salt, pepper ect?

Start with the sauce, it is the key. make sure it is thick and flavorful, start maybe with tomato paste so the sauce is thick and concentrated in flavor. Be generous with spices, heat dulls them. Make sure the spices are fresh, the stuff in the cans is fine to use, but it has a shelf life, it can go stale, and lose it fragrance.
Buy a good mozzarella, not those cheapy bags. Get a real chunk, and grate it yourself.
I used to make my own, and it did taste like the cheap frozen ones out of the frozen food case.

In what order do you put topping on homemade pizza?

I’m wondering if it makes a difference depending on the order of toppings.

I put sauce, cheese and then toppings on my homemade thin pizza dough… I noticed that sometimes the crust in the center is a little soggy. Would changing the order of toppings help?

I put my cheese last, and you may not be baking it long enough.

this is the standard crust i use

7/8 cup warm water
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons white sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Add ingredients in the order suggested by your manufacturer. Set bread-maker for dough setting and start machine. When the unit signals, remove dough.
Pat dough into 12×15-inch jelly roll pan or greased 12-inch round pizza pan. Let stand 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Spread pizza sauce over dough. Sprinkle toppings over sauce. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.

Can I freeze Pizza dough without partially cooking it?

I make pizza dough in my breadmaker and I was wondering if I could freeze half each time so I only have to make dough every second time I make pizza. Do I need to cook the Pizza base before I can freeze it or can I just freeze the dough? Thanks in advance.

You can freeze it either way. To freeze uncooked dough, wrap tightly in freezer paper and store it in a freezer bag. You can also spread the dough out in the shape you like it, bake it just until it’s done, let it cool completely, and then wrap tightly and freeze. This way, when you want pizza next time, all you have to do is thaw the crust, top it, and bake just a few minutes!

I want to make my own pizzas, as im trying to eat more healthy and pizza is something i really miss, a month into my health kick.

I cant find anywhere that sells wholemeal pizza bases so i can make my own pizzas. Anybody got any ideas ?

If you can’t find them, try using whole grain pita breads instead. Or, you can make your own by simply substituting whole grain flour for about half the white flour in any pizza dough recipe.
